Harewood Lake Nanaimo

Harewood Lake is located in the Cinnabar Valley/Extension area of South Nanaimo. Adjacent to the lake is 300 hectares of open wet mossy meadows, referred to as Harewood Plains. This land is privately owned by Island Timerlands and is used a right of way for BC Hydro crews to access. There is no distinctive access point to Harewood Lake, but a small foot path leading to the lake can be found on Godfrey Road just across from Fernwillow Rd. Fishing in Nanaimo at Harewood Lake should be good as it is a stocked lake with cutthroat trout and is a great spot for paddlers & anglers alike. Harewood Lake is surrounded by bull rushes and willows, the higher outcroppings boast fir and arbutus trees along sandstone ridges. Truely a hidden gem in Nanaimo.
